// LAKE //

Don't know how many times M have taken me here? A spot, next to where the books of Frankenstein was written, in Cologny, you who are familiar with Geneva know this area for those AMAZING placs with ultra luxury estates one can only dream of.

// SUN //

So we took the advantage of leaving without the children for Geneva and enjoy the weekend. Unfortunately I had migraine 24/7 so not a very romantic weekend and no alcohol which made it slightly boring when leaving like that with reservations in lovely restaurants. Anyhow, look what some medicine can do. Small, invisible eyes but I'm up walking, at least not completely dead.

The weather was amazing, mild autumn, that's really when you understand we are located more south down here, winter is always one month later compare to Sweden. Love it!

A busy day

Wednesday's are my day off but let me tell you I am more busy then ever. All the things I have no time for during the week or weekend is put into that day that goes by like in three seconds. I try to fit in some sort of exercise, even if it's just a 7min workout it's better then nothing.

I also pick up the boys early and do something cosy with them. Like have a "fika" together (like tea and a cookie) so that they feel it's something a little extra with mum. Even if it's often VERY tiring to handle them both at the same time so much by myself like I do, I love them so much and every minute spent with them is so special. I would not change it for the world, only wish they would be slightly calmer and not fight so much, maybe listen more to what I'm saying also but what can you do ... blink.

// IGLO //

The snow has been here from Wednesday when 50cm fell non stop so beautifully it was impossible to get upset that the roads where not plowed or all problems it created with peoples work, schools and all cars that got completely stuck for hours. Our big family car is a four wheel drive and impeccable for sure in this sort of environments so even in 50cm snow it just backed out of our entrance like nothing. I was very happy for the choice of car I have to say.
We've been sledging and we built an Iglo for the kids. Of course they mostly fought about who were suppose to be in it even though it had room for both of them, sometimes I want to push there little cute faces into the snow and scream "what's wrong with you?" Patience, again, patience.
Anyhow, the weekend and all the snow was so cosy. It's all disappearing now so I'm very happy we truly took time to enjoy it!

Father day!

The boys and me surprised M with a Father's day breakfast!

In love with a ...

// ... BLAZER //

It all started with my dear friend in Zürich, Marie, she once got this amazing blazer from Alexander Wang we both agreed on was a super great buy. So useful and yet both elegant but in this sort of easy going way.
I love blazers and have many really nice ones but wanted one in a grey/black/white colour that works for most purposes. My last favorite was the amazing one from Stella McCartney in black with hand made flowers, I'm sure you remember, if not click here.
This one from Rag & Bone is another great find, I took it in a size 4 but it's still slightly big so I'll have do take it to my tailor and adjust it slightly in the arms and shoulders to make it perfect. Can't wait to pair it with my Prince Town furry slipper loafers from Gucci or a pair of sneakers.

Today I wore it to the Fathers day lunch I surprised my man with, where we eventually also celebrated my father. Balzac a French/Amercian bistro where it's even legal to bring children like my two little crazy apes it's really so great!

Hope you have a good day!

Ohh it was an impeccable, dreamy landscape that woke me and the children up this morning. Last night at 11.15pm I let mr:Tiger out for his last pie and the plow tractor had just plowed the roads flat and safe, just to have this a couple of hours later. Our big car is in our garage and that was lucky because else we would have been stuck inside since our smaller car was hidden under a HUGE snowy blanket. Of course the children loved it, even if it went half up on Leon it's magic for the small ones.

The road to school was beautiful and we listen to Christmas carols in the car but had three cars laying on the side of the road and even the tarmac was completely white. At school five cars completely blocked the entrance since they were stuck. I went back home, a hour later then usual just to get a message that practically no teacher came to school and the after school activities were not running today, they asked us to pick up the kids as soon as possible. So just when I was planning to do some Yoga at home in peace and calm, maybe get a pair of high Soreil for myself to be able to not get completely wet fetching the children, I have to go back.

Anyhow, this day is teaching me to enjoy the snow as much as I can. (Even if i don't). At the moment i live in Sweden and this is what we have. I'll do my best not to complain too much. It's so cosy inside with the fire going and all lit candles. I had three cups of tea yesterday and we ended the day me and the children, cosy in the sofa with snow falling like a perfect American movie outside.

And talking about America! God bless you all.

Sleeping problems?

It all started with my man's constant sleeping problem, my man is as energetic as our children and always has A LOT to do, both in his company and private, which generate sleeping problems. Often we went to bed together and I fell asleep kaboom while he couldn't, which obviously got me all worried.

When I was with my girlfriends at the marvelous hotel Corinthia in London (a must if you have the budget), we got this little test spray with something called "This Works" next to our pillow and of course I had to try it, and slept like a baby and woke up all amazed.

You spray this lavender, holistic ingredients, pure natural, on your pillow before night time and lay in the wonderful and soothing smell and it will work with you all through the night whenever you move. I brought it home and sprayed it on M's bed and even he agreed something better came after that night. He felt he slept deeper.
So after i ordered a bottle from England and ever since we're both addicted. Today I got another delivery with the same bottles and I felt I just had to share it with you.

You can find it HERE.

Bonne nuit!

Eutope combo

// HIM & ME //

Today I escaped with my man! We dropped the kids to my parents just before 11am and we head off to Grand Hotel and had an amazing three course brunch there, full of all the delicious things anyone can imagine in this tranquil environment. Far away from the "huzz and the buzz" at home.
We promised each other to not talk about the kids and almost managed to. After we had some cosy time together before returning back to family life and our happy little monkies who had the best time with Mormor and Morfar. It takes quite small things, hours as matter of fact, to get some energy back and feel like children (whom we love so incredible much) is not the ONLY thing we have in life!

We had the best intention, having a cosy day out in the nature, all four of us. The weather was slightly better where we live because it was far more chilly so close to the ocean where Djurgården is located. The wind felt crispy and humid, you know like it can these times of year.
I wore my new Chanel sneakers and matched it with this sort of blazer coat, actually from Massimo Dutti and packed the Prada nylon backpack with hot chocolate and home made, healthy snack full of nuts and dried fruit for when energy level can be low.
We brought some old bread and feed the ducks. Funny how kids never get tired of that things. It's just something fascinating I guess to see animal eat?
Today the nature was in full bloom, the perfect yellow and orange shade, how can you not just love it? Like being part of a magnificent oil painting.
After 40 min my oldest got the usual "i am tired, it's cold, I can't walk" (don't blame him actually and Leon was in a pram all the time so of course he was jealous) attitude and we sure had another 20 min of not so fun time trying to get the spirit back without loosing it completely but after a while and a lot of patience and kind words, he managed to get back in track and we went walking, talking and you know, just enjoying the time together.
We ended the afternoon at Djurgårdens Bar & Restaurant where you can make your own waffles with huge amount of whipped cream and delicious strawberry jam. Me and M took a Irish coffee each, thought we deserved that and it helps getting the mood up ...

Have a cosy evening!

Friday, November 4, 2016

It's for sure grey weather with half snow and half a drop of autumn left. The trees looks less and less pretty and the sun stays away among the grey heaven that seems so very heavy and dull. Outfit pic are almost impossible because at 4pm it's black as the night and work brings me home on a good day about that time. It's also quite uninspirational with the surrounding, i wish I lived in London, only for that matters. Those crispy white town houses with shiny black, perfectly made, doors. Everything looks good in front of something like that.
In my life, it's not right now, I live in a big house close to the city but yet in a residential area with houses or nature as my best friend.

To stay positive we all do different things. It's about both the small things and the big. Not putting up with people, environments, relationships that doesn't bring you anything then bad feelings and complicated situations are all big things we need to erase as much as possible. And with erase I also mean in mind, not give them thoughts or spaces because as soon as they manage to take your thoughts, they have somehow won over you.

The small things are to light candles when you get home, cook healthy food with ingredients you know will give the whole family energy, (1. as clean products as possible, I try to use ready made as little as possible and we eat a lot of vegetables) (2.when it's possible, it should not be another stressful thing, then it's better with frozen meatballs, trust me, i've been there too many times). To give you something, a present like a pair of nice shoes, a bag, a nice blanket for the home or whatever makes you feel slightly joyful is important. I believe in work - hard play which more or less means that you have to spoil yourself a little when you work hard which it truly is to maneuver a family and working.

I just signed me up for Yoga which I can't wait to start, even if it's just one time per week or so. It will be spoiling myself, not with things but with my own time and a great instructor. I'll tell you all about it when I start.
Hope you all have a cosy weekend. Talk soon!

Inside activities

Yesterday morning we woke up from Alexis and Leon screaming next to our bed "It's Christmas, It's Christmas!!!". In other words, it had been snowing outside and sure, the whole garden layed like a perfect place for Santa to land his sled.
But it was also windy and the snow kept falling on so leaving the house felt ... less tempting. I did exactly what I actually don't like but sometimes believe we need, let him sit a full three hours in front of the television with some hot chocolate and a big warm blanket while I was doing a lot of necessary things around. After lunch I took the great suggestion from one of you readers, we went to Panduro (a DIY store that has everything you need for making things yourself) and I spent a 1000SEK (!!!) buying pearls, thread, pärlplattor, bolls and a lot of different small things to make fathers Christmas, angels and snow mans. I mean, Alexis can very seldom play by himself yet concentrate on something for very long but he played with this for hours, making bracelets, necklaces and everything and when Leon joined us we sat for another hour making different things. It's was such a cosy time actually.

I ended the afternoon with baking really healthy peanuts (ecological, non slated) healthy snacks with dates, non salted, ecological peanutbutter and a really lovely vegetarian dinner we all enjoyed. (Well honestly, the boys refused to eat most of it and it took like one hour before they had at least finsihed half of their plate. I wanted to pull my hair of frustration sitting there nagging like a crazy person and my man almost lost it, but in the end they finished it and sort of liked it.)

Life, isn't it funny after all?

// TIRED //

Today I've been so remarkably tired. I am constant half asleep. I think it's a combination of:

1. Taking care of a energetic five year old who test me all the time which creates a lot of frustration where I need to constantly keep my patience high. (Which I manage about 65 percent of the time)
2. We have gone over to winter time. That means it's completely dark, night black at 4.30pm
3. I started to eat more sweets in the evening, just to keep up with my tiredness.
4. I have so much going on in our life that I need to stay awake slightly longer in the evening. I need to sleep around 11.00pm to wake up at 6.45am which is the regular time my boys wakes up, but lately I tend to fall asleep more around midnight.
5. My new Epileptic medicine for my attacks seems to be working (knock on wood) but it comes with a lot of side affects. Constant tiredness is one of them.

Anyhow, today I took this little monster for a lunch with my dear cousin and her daughter at Sturehof and then we went in the pouring rain and harsh wind to the Naturhistoriska museet and even though Alexis was more interested at flipping on and fooling around with all computer-"ish" information screens, he tend to enjoy it. Can't wait for the day where he can concentrate enough to really indulge in all the amazing exhibition and let me explain each one of them. For now, not so much.

Hope you all had a great day.

Autumn break

// US //

Today is the second week of Alexis school autumn break. The first week he flew with his father to Geneva to spend a nice week with his grandparents and this week is partly mine. Any tips on what to do with a boy 5.5years old? I went to Junibacken today and it was nice but a lot of children, my mind is lacking imagination, any suggestions?

Signature look

The days are just running by like nuts. I am progressing in everything I want at the moment, two big things but it takes a lot of effort and I need to give them the time it demands from me. I sleep less then ever but still have a good amount of energy i must say. I will tell you all of it when time is right, I promise.
The children are both difficult at the moment, Leon is in a tantrum/stubborn phase and Alexis is going through some pree teenage period where he question everything we tell him off but he responds in being a little arrogant in which he obviously has nothing to win, I guess this period will make him realise that. Ten bags of patience my husbands nanny used to say about him and his brother apparently, I remind myself about that about 100 times per day it feels. I hate when it's more of "stop fighting, No Alexis, Stop it Leon etc etc" then the opposite, I feel like such a bad mother and still I know its crucial. To be firm, loving yet set clear rules and make them understand that there is consequences to everything in life. As a parent it often feels like all we do is nag, tell them off and educate them. And only parents of two children so close in age (I will also say boys are more handful in this age and will be easier later when girls are more difficult) will understand the intensity and constant chaos.

Anyhow, from deep talk to superficiality, something we need to survive the everyday chaos, my signature look for this fall. You who fallow me on instagram have seen me in multiple combinations of knee high boots and a lose fit sweater, I just simply love it so much.

How do you deal with small child years when your children is just so much of everything and it feels like all you do is yell?

(I put some really nice things up in Stina's Vintage Store ... make sure to take a look!)

Have a lovely Sunday evening, talk soon!

How beautiful can an autumn day be?

// HIPPIE //

Today was one of these really good days. I started it in the very cold morning, dropping the children off and went to the soul healing forest and went in one of the tracks. For me it's just so empowering what the nature can do. I don't use my phone, i try to affirmate positive vibes while using my physical body to have it in a god shape. I try to do it at least two times per week which honestly, often doesn't happen.

After I had soooo many errands to do and after a meeting I got home really late with easy food heated by my man enjoyed with the children. I felt strong and in good health which always help! Hope you had a great day!

A dash of ...

// ORANGE //

Today is a day of mixed feelings. We lost a young friend this weekend in horrible cancer and once again we're reminded about the vulnerability of life and how precious it is to live. Just that. The pain in our heart is so strong.

I will also start a new heavy medicine daily for my migraine that just gets worse and I've been standing on similar some years ago and had to stop it because of the side effects but now I have to try it again, something has to be done. So even if the autumn colours are so pretty, it's many thoughts going through us today. We have one life, no idea how long it's going to last or what conditions we will have it it. Please make sure to make the most at it while you can.

Sunday, October 2, 2016

I am all again into cooking and baking, for a long time now both things have just felt like yet another burden and I've done it, but not with feeling nor passion. But our garden is a treasure in apples, herbs, plums and rasberries so I've used apples in most things. Apple cake, apple jam, apple in autumn stewes with red wine, as they are, apple juice ....

First real autumn look

My all time favorite season is so here and Stockholm, just like last year, delivers it to perfection. We're talking about almost every day with sun, the most colourful trees and leaves in red/yellow/orange/brown/green which gives me a calming feeling wherever I look due to it's remarkable perfection in aesthetic combination.
The days are spent as much as possible outside and it's about 15 degrees, so warm but still to the extend that we can wear are new lovely autumn coats with boots if we want or barefoot if so prefer. I love autumn!
Thanks for all beauty you provide!

Sunday, September 25, 2016

So knee high boots are my all time autumn favorite look. Both for skirts and trousers they just add something impeccable and daring. Today it was another mild autumn day and all my favorite colours are coming to life. This period goes so quickly, it's important to be outside and enjoy it to the fullest before the never ending grey season takes over!

I wish you all a lovely Sunday!

Saturday, September 24, 2016

Lack of post has to do with everything happening around. Fun things for sure now when it's getting serious which it is now. From one thing to another, i am completely hooked on knee high boots again and got them in blue suede and dark grey from Stuart Weitzman, here paired with a blue coat in the same shade from Sandro and a wool cardigan from Celine. I love when style is easy and boots like this makes it just that.

Have a great Saturday!
